Professional Master’s Degree in Cultural Heritage and Social Projects:

What is the duration of the professional master’s program in Cultural Heritage and Social Projects?

The standard duration of the professional master’s program is four semesters.

How is the curriculum?

In addition to the development of a project, students take three required courses (“History of Brazil,” “Culture and society” and “Final Project Seminar”), three elective courses and two tutorial seminars (activities to be defined by the advisor), each worth three credits or 45 class hours.

What time do the class sessions take place?

Class sessions are on weekdays, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.

Can I take courses from another master’s or doctoral program?

Yes. One of the elective courses may be replaced by a course from another graduate program recognized by CAPES, provided that this is previously communicated to the program coordinator and the course is worth at least three credits (45 class hours).

Are any tuition fees due in this program?

Yes. The total cost is BRL $24,472.80, which can be paid in 24 installments of BRL $1,133.00.

Professional Doctoral Program:

What is the duration of the professional doctoral program in Cultural Heritage and Social Projects?

The standard duration of the professional doctoral program is eight semesters.

How is the curriculum?

The professional doctoral program curriculum is comprised of the development of a final project (in lieu of the traditional dissertation thesis); five required courses (“History of Brazil,” “Research Methods and Design,” “Culture and Society,” “Final Project Seminar,” and “Advanced Project Development Seminar”); one elective course; and four tutorial seminars (activities to be defined by the advisor). Each course is worth three credits or 45 class hours.

Class sessions are on weekdays, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.

Is it possible to transfer credits from the professional master’s program?

If the student graduated from the professional master’s program in Cultural Heritage and Social Projects less than 5 (five) years prior, they are exempt from taking the required courses “History of Brazil” and “Culture and Society.”
